		<description>(Prototype 2011)
Design Frøystad+Klock
In this project we aim to create objects that redefine the perception and flavours of a meal, through a particular focus on the senses – Using materials, surfaces and shapes that enhances the food experience.
The products are the result of a cooperation with one of Norway’s best chefs; Even Ramsvik. He has opened our mind when it comes to exploring various aspects and possibilities of sensory perception and the experience of food. We hope that’s this new products will serve as an inspiration to new culinary experimenting and creations as they give new and unexpected ways of serving, sensing and eating food.

TASTE!!
Does the object from which it is eaten affect the taste, balance and finish of food?
With Taste! we are investigating what affect the shape, material and surface of the eating tool has to taste.
Inspired by the primitive way we all enjoy eating oysters, we designed shells that serves as both serving plates and eating tools. The three different shells each guide the food to various receptors on the tongue enhancing and changing the taste.

&#60;img src="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/0/15800/1568268/Aroma.jpg" border="0" width="670" height="518" width_o="2048" height_o="1584" src_o="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/0/15800/1568268/Aroma_o.jpg" align="left" /&#62; &#60;img src="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/0/15800/1568268/Aroma2.jpg" border="0" width="670" height="455" width_o="2048" height_o="1392" src_o="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/0/15800/1568268/Aroma2_o.jpg" align="left" /&#62; &#60;img src="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/0/15800/1568268/Aroma_5.jpg" border="0" width="670" height="937" width_o="1698" height_o="2376" src_o="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/0/15800/1568268/Aroma_5_o.jpg" align="left" /&#62; &#60;img src="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/0/15800/1568268/FplusK4_sketches.jpg" border="0" width="670" height="502" width_o="2048" height_o="1536" src_o="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/0/15800/1568268/FplusK4_sketches_o.jpg" align="left" /&#62;
AROMA...
Balancing tastes and aromas is the challenge of all cooking. Sometimes the subtle sent or just a hint of an ingredient is enough to perfect the harmony. With Aroma..., a double layered plate we have designed a tool for the chef to add aroma of an ingredient or spice without actually adding them to the food.
The top part serves as presentation area for the food, and seals the down part which can be filled with sented dry ice or steam with a choosen aroma.

Friday Late at V&#38;A ( 2010)
Design by Frøystad+Klock/ Furuhælvetica

On the last Friday of every month, the V&#38;A hosts a contemporary late night event in the museum. Centred around a theme or exhibition, the evenings feature live performances, guest DJ's and often hands-on activities as well as a late bar. Friday 24 September 2010 we invited the guests to pick up a pine block as they entered the Museum and add it to our growing pine tower in the Grand Entrance!
"The Norwegian team Furuhaelvetica puts a twist on our perception of pine, re-establishing some affection for the wood through new applications and expressions. As you've now paired up with a total stranger, why not have some traditional Norwegian 'Karsk' (coffee, sugar and vodka) and get to know each other in our pine landscape!"

The silhouette of the Coat Stem resembles the Norwegian pine with its long stem and big crown is a mix of several of my tryouts from the workshop.
The fine dimensions create a more elegant look than how pine products traditionally have been used and like the wind always moves the trees branches, the Coatstem also changes appearance when used.

Pieces of pine blocks are puzzled together and formed into shape in a lathe. The puzzle of the pine blocks with it’s year rings, forms a beautiful decorative pattern on the table top. In addition to the pattern, the surface also has a really nice tactile softness.
The shapes of the tables, are massive, but still neat and somehow funny awkward. They got the name “Awkward” because they somehow look like silly clumsy mushroom animals.

Funk (Prototype 2007)
Design by Marte Frøystad / Frøystad + Klock

‘Funk’ – is a lamp concept that in addition to giving light to the room also has added values as humor and nostalgia.
The knitted tube comes in mixed color shades, and adds an unexpected tactile surface, inviting to be touched.

The shape is honest and easy – sculpturally balancing its own body, without additional components.
The three lamps are in different heights, and can be composed and arranged freely in the room, or be placed in relation to each other – making one lamp all together.

Tosom 2 ( 2010)
Design by Marte Frøystad / Frøystad+Klock

Tosom is a standing invitation to cuddle up alone, or with a close friend or a child in your arms! This XL-chair is especially designed for informal seating positions, with plenty of space for curling your feet up. (Prototype, 2009)
Design by Runa Klock / Frøystad + Klock

The small coffee table Bye-Bye Bird is made of 100% brass. The table is inspired by old classic wire furniture but with a humours and functional twist; bending some of the wires creates an opening, allowing the space under the tabletop to be used for storage if wanted.
The table is designed with durability and sustainability in mind.
Brass is a fine material communicating quality and value– and the table is almost like a jewel decorating the room. Made from one single material makes it easy to recycle – of course after 100 years use…
